This week, renowned Hollywood acting coach Ivana Chubbuck sat down with IF Magazine to talk about her approach to acting, her connection with Australia, and why she believes storytelling can transcend cultural and political divides.

Ivana was in Sydney to lead a four-day masterclass presented by the newly launched Acting Mastery Academy, founded by Australian filmmakers Benjamin and Holly-Anna Mathews, in collaboration with Kate Jaggard of Actors Room Byron Bay. It marked her first return to Australia in a decade.

A certified Chubbuck Technique teacher who trained under Ivana in Los Angeles, Kate was instrumental in bringing her mentor back to Australia. She worked alongside Acting Mastery to bring the Sydney masterclass to life. The visit provided a rare opportunity for Australian actors to train in person with one of Hollywood's most influential acting coaches, whose methodology has been used by performers including Halle Berry, Charlize Theron, Brad Pitt, Eva Mendes, Sylvester Stallone, Travis Fimmel, and Beyoncé.

It was also wonderful to see Ivana's return covered by one of Australia's leading screen-industry publications. The interview explores far more than acting technique. Ivana discusses the universality of human emotion, the role personal experience can play in performance, and her respect for Australia's creative community — themes she also unpacks in The Power of the Actor.
