Lessons learnt from Oprah
This month we were lucky enough to see Oprah live at Rod Laver Arena and share her story and inspire others. As a woman that has worked in the media industry for over 30 years and having been named the “Queen of All Media” she is an inspiration for us and how we conduct ourselves in the publicity and management industries.
We wanted to share a few truths that resonate with us:
- Any long-term and sustainable success in life comes from connecting to your spirit/soul.
- You need to listen to your inner guidance and intuition – don’t let the voices of the world drown it out.
- Because, when you don’t know what to do, you need to get still until you feel your inner guidance and it will let you know what to do. Just listen.
- Your legacy and purpose in life: is every life that you meet, leave a heart print. Be kind and compassionate towards others.
- Be your authentic self…no matter how scary this may seem. You will shine!
- Use your force for good. We have the opportunity to do this in business and PR every day.
- For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Basic karma – what goes around, comes around. The energy you put out is always coming back to you.
- You are in charge of your life! You co-create your life with your intentions that you bring into every situation in your life. What are your intentions?
- Money and fame just magnifies who someone is…if they are a jerk, they become a bigger jerk.
- When a challenge shows up…ask “what is it here to teach me?” – take the lessons. Empower yourself to learn the lessons and move on.
- You become what you believe.
- The greatest power is love. Show it and be it.
So be responsible for the energy and intentions you put out into the world! PR is an amazing platform and we have the power to literally change the world. Claim your personal power and create the life you want to live. Be your authentic self and speak the truth. And remember to do good in this world.
